JNM Technologies, Inc. (JNM) was founded as a Florida Corporation in July of 1994. Its original charter was to act as a technology transfer arm for AMS Engineering and Environmental (AMS). There were three original partners, James F. Prochaska, P.E., Dr. Marcus Allhands, P.E. and Nigel Morris, Professional Environmentalist. JNM worked with agricultural and environmental projects where it developed engineered solutions and then provided the primary software and hardware solutions for those projects. In the summer of 1994, it was approached by Netafim Irrigation to handle and distribute their Bioline Wastewater Drip Tubing (Bioline) in Texas and the surrounding states. JNM accepted the opportunity and opened an office in Bryan, Texas in the spring of 1995.
The partnership changed in 1997. James F. Prochaska, P.E. retained JNM Technologies, Inc., while Nigel Morris continued as president of AMS Engineering and Environmental. Dr. Marcus Allhands, P.E. relinquished ownership of both companies and joined Amiad Water Filtration.
JNM's work in the area of onsite wastewater began with Mr. Prochaska's 1987 project where he designed and permitted an 8.2 mgd reuse system for the Manatee County Wastewater Utility in south Florida. The reuse project took place on a 30,000 acre privately held ranch in Manatee County. During that same time period Netafim Irrigation was developing its Bioline tubing using its time tested and reliable RAM Drip Tubing as its base. By the early 1990's Mr. Prochaska was working closely with Netafim to develop the management and marketing infrastructure needed to promote the use of Bioline in large onsite projects along the Florida east coast. The need for transferring AMS' irrigation technologies into a business model that promoted and provided both the engineering and related products was becoming apparent. As a result, JNM was founded in 1994 under the direction of Mr. Prochaska.
Since its beginning JNM has worked to educate both public and private utility sectors that dealt with the treatment and dispersal of treated wastewater effluent. Typical large-scale projects were limited to less than 50,000 gpd until about 2004. JNM's experienced personnel gave it the ability to tackle a 500,000 gpd system in the panhandle of Texas. This led to the development of advanced controllers coupled with "ready to install" pump and filter skid systems. As time progressed JNM ventured out of the state of Texas to projects across the US and Canada. To date JNM has worked or is working on projects ranging from 50,000 gpd to 1,000,000 gpd in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, Wyoming, Oregon, Georgia. JNM has developed a line of specialized products and processes that make the use of Netafim Bioline a simple and reliable solution for the long-term reuse and dispersal of treated wastewater effluent.
In addition to the large flow applications, JNM has developed a line of products to be used in projects as small as a single-family home to small commercial projects less than 15,000 gpd. A new line of self-flushing filters was needed for this market niche. JNM was unable to find the right product in the late 90's, so pursued the development of its own products for this market. In 2004 JNM applied for a patent on a true 1.0 inch back-flushing ring disc filter. With the 1" flushing filter in place, JNM launched its Drip-Tech line of onsite products. Since that time, JNM has also developed a line of controllers that can be used on these smaller flow projects. The products are commercially known as the ACT (advanced cleaning technology) filter systems matched with its BDMC controller series. In addition to the large flow states, JNM also markets its lower flow systems in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Missouri, Oklahoma, California, Vermont, Louisiana, New Mexico and Kansas.
Today, JNM has developed strategic alliances with companies such as MOTTECH (Motorola Irrigation Controllers), BERMAD valves and controllers, JAIN drip irrigation projects and Netafim-USA which carries ARAD flow meters and control valves, DOROT control valves, ARKAL filters and NMC controllers in addition to its drip products like Bioline and UniRam tubing. It is through these strategic alliances that JNM can bring the science of irrigation into the application surrounding the reuse and dispersal of treated wastewater effluent.
